How to Choose Between CPAP and BiPAP
Follow the sleep study, not the price gap. Your polysomnography report and the doctor's prescription name the device type and the pressure setting. Bring both to us. We will match a machine to those numbers rather than guess from symptoms.
Auto or fixed pressure? An auto machine adjusts pressure through the night as your needs change. A fixed unit stays at one setting. Auto costs more but suits patients whose pressure requirement varies with sleep position or weight change.
Decide whether you need a humidifier. Dhaka's dry winter months make unhumidified therapy uncomfortable, and many patients abandon treatment because of a dry throat rather than the mask itself. Most machines here include one or accept an add-on.
Check the noise rating if you share a room. Quieter units cost more, though the difference matters far less than a well-fitted mask.
